Willem

Aruba is an island and a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the mid-south of the Caribbean Sea, about 29 kilometres north of the Venezuelan peninsula of Paraguaná and 80 kilometres northwest of Curaçao.

The island is one of the most picturesque  Antilles islands found just off the coast of Venezuela.

It's best known for its dazzling white beaches, but away from the beach, there's fascinating desert-like landscapes, colorful architecture and a vibrant art and social scene to explore.

On the air since 2014,  Willem was introduced to the hobby via his father Adriano P43AX who was an  experienced operator.

Willem has logged 2 469 QSOs and he   has worked and confirmed 160 countries.

" I really love the hobby" says Willem, "it is just like travelling all over the world but still sitting at home"

Willem is too modest to mention the prizes that he has acquired over the years, but if you look carefully at the walls of his shack,  you will see the numerous award certificates that he has won.

Willem's working conditions consist of an ICOM. 725 transceiver along with a HM ICOM 36 microphone and a  home made GP antenna that is 23 feet high.

We are looking forward to meeting you on the band Willem, good DX !
