Jean Claude lives in Boulogne-sur-Mer, a city, located in the Nord-Pas-de Calais, near Lille, on the north Coast of France.
Located in the English Channel near the English coast, the city is known for being the first fishing port of France and has been an important port linking France to England until the late twentieth century.
Classified as a "tourist resort" it is commonly called the "capital of the Côte d'Opale" and it is the most important tourist destination in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais (after Lille) thanks to the important heritage history, its beach and those of neighboring villages as well as the national sea center Nausicaá (the most visited touristic site of the region).
On the air for over 20 years, Jean Claude is a dedicated DXer who has worked 200 DXCC + from all around the world.
He is never far from his radio and he will never forget his first QSO with a station from Normandie : 14 VC 064 David
With a spirit of camaraderie, he likes to play his part in the life of the group, taking part in various challenges, contests, events, activations etc.
Over the years, he has activated many places : LOTAs, IWIS and COTAs, etc....
At the moment, he is active from his base station with a Yaesu FT 857D radio and a QUAD antenna.
He enjoys also working from his portable station, then he uses the Skypper directional antenna.
