William lives in Glenarm, a village full of charm and beauty in County Antrim.

Glenarm takes its name from the glen in which it lies, the southernmost of the nine Glens of Antrim.

The place is known for its walled garden, its forest that is one of the best sites along the Causeway Coastal Route and its castle which is the ancestral home of the earl of Antrim.

On the air since the age of 13, William is an experienced operator who loves CB radios.

After using several FM radio like the President Pulsar 800, the Harvard Good Buddy 40 channels radio and various MIDLAND AM/FM,

William purchased a CRT 9900 which  permitted him to start on SSB.

At his home QTH, William is using a President Lincoln MK1, a President Jackson and a Superstar 3900 radio, along with a SIRIO 2008 antenna.

With this equipment William has worked over 50 DXCC in 2021.

Considering the actual conditions of propagation, this score is very good !

William enjoys a lot  mobile Dxing,

his portable set up consists of a Dirland 3900 black with a Sirio 3000 antenna, and a CRT 9900 radio with a Sirio 5000 antenna.

William enjoys local contacts and meeting his good friends on the air but he also likes long distance DX and he says that working Australia and Indonesia, gave him a real buzz.

He also had fun taking part in the latest Charlie India Halloween challenge and he is looking forward to participating in the next contest.

When he is not on the air, William likes restoring old tractors and stationary engines, which he displays in various shows all over Ireland and Scotland.
